Today I've started a new series called 'Zeeland Farmhouses'. It's my purpose to show you some different aspects of/around farmhouses in the Zeeland Countryside. This image is taken in the spring of this year in a polder at the South Beveland peninsula, Zeeland, The Netherlands. As you can see, my primary attention was not caught by the farmhouse itself, but by the 'Japanese cherry' tree in its front yard. Hope you'll enjoy this series. PS: 'Owd Fellow' Tick gave, in his comment on one of my previous images, a good explanation for 'polder'. For people who missed this explanation, I will repeat it: A polder is a low-lying (mostly below sea-level) tract of land, reclaimed from the sea, and enclosed by embankments known as dikes.
