Have the intention to show you in this series some different aspects of or around farmhouses in the Zeeland Countryside. This image is captured early in the spring of this year at the Walcheren peninsula, Zeeland, The Netherlands. I was looking on this old farmhouse from above as I was standing on an inland dike. Hope you'll enjoy this series. Edit: I gave some additonal information below.

Another very nice photo of your beloved Zeeland Countryside. It is always so clean looking. There must not be any rednecks over there. I see some solar panels. Is that something most people have? You captured this so good C. Look forward to more.

Looks very nice with the grass around the house and although the trees are bare, they add to the beauty of the scene. Good capture, Cornelius!

gestaan, Cornelius ?...lol!
Prachtige opname!

As there are some questions, I like to give you this further explanation:
At my image you can see a wooden barn built in the middle of the 19th century. The barn is painted black by tar to protect the wood against rotting (nowadays forbidden by environmental rules) and in front of the barn you can see a from the barn separated house (separated as a kind of fire prevention) where the farmer and his family live. The windows at the lower flower floor have outer shutters to keep the house cool in the summertime (because in the time the farmhouse was built, air conditioning didn't exist).
On the upper floor (the roof) the sleeping rooms are situated. They have tilted windows wich can be opened and are turnable into a horizontal position. 'Owd Fellow' Tick supposed it were solar panels.
In order to answer John's question (put forward in Dutch) like to say that I wasn't standing on the roof of my car (lol) in order to capture this farmhouse from a heightened position, but that I was standing on an inland dike, as said in my narrative. I had to capture this farmhouse early in the spring as in the summertime it can't be seen by the leaves of the trees.

It really looks nice. Very well kept, and from the picture, the barn doesn't look as old as you describe. Wonderful composition. Keep the farmhouses coming.

Good choice of season for this one. That is the same window system we had in Bayern. Very practical. Very interesting subject, excellently presented. Very beautiful, Cornelius. I look forward to the rest of the series.

I really like this view of the farm house, the road and the barn. The rows of trees are really nice too. I appreciate the detailed explanation too, about the tar and the shutter's etc.
