Although the Oxymoron contest is over, think this image would have been a proper item for it. I should have given it then the title 'Open Gate' as this gate, giving entrance to the farmhouse yard, has lost nowadays its original protective function at all. Hope you enjoy both image and series.

Now that's a pair of gateposts!! They don't belong to a worker's cottage do they? If they are the gateposts I can't wait to see the house!

What a Beautiful place, The colours & clarity are perfect.
I don't understand why they would have a gate, but no fence??

I guess it wouldn't do much good to close the gate, would it? The gate posts are really nice structures. They remind me of some here where I live. Excellent shot again, Cornelius.

That is so right for the oxymoron contest. Don't foret to close the gate on the way out.

I really feel welcome here C. Gate open and no fence. Looks like they farm right up to the yard. Hence, no fence. Nice photo and would have been perfect for the contest. Maybe they should have another. Have a good weekend my friend.

The lions are welcoming you to a peaceful, friendly farmhouse which stands in a vast field. Lovely shot, Cornelius with that tree in front and just enough sky to be seen.

This open gate is a 'Welcome' sign, and a 'symbol' for all (good and friendly) visitors of Zeeland!
I think the Zeeland people are frienly, honest hard workers, and no nonsense, same character as the people of Groningen!
Very good job, Cornelius! I like this series very much!

lol Cornelius - agree with you - a gate without a fence is ever open and would have been ideal for the contest, but still it is very inviting - I am enjoying looking at your new series.

The sky! Those clouds! What an old-fashioned feel this image has to it.
What is the interesting black box outside the elegant gates?
