Although the 'Cow-index' doesn't bother me that much, I'm still looking to the achieved score for each of my posts. I suppose that I'm confrontated now with the same phenomenon as where LynEve, Tick, Sandi and others had to deal with. While the by friends given comments were, only exception, very good, the 'Cow-Index' for my Zeeland Farmhouses 03 post got the super-score of 31 by now. Reason enough for me to stop my series 'Zeeland Farmhouses' at least for a while. Thanks to the anymous voters who were helpful to achieve this incredible result. Have admiration for your 'courage'. You've done very well to the Caedes site and some of their members, including me to a certain extend!

Excellent image - good on all counts!
Mr. C. I have been there also with cow's.
My image "Long Gone" which I thought was right on the money for composition and such only got somewhere in the 30's also. I have since deleted it. :(
I do hope you will re-consider the series, as I was really enjoying those. Remember down with the cow's and what is important is your friends. :)

Thanx Mate! I do like your point of view!
Nice photo and I hope that we, your honest friends, can help you to re-consider! The Cow-index does not matter! We do!!! :-)
We love a bit of personality and talent!

A big TIDDELIPOM to you from me!

And to you that read this from a COWS point of view, MOOOOOOOOOO!

This is a great image. The ship looks majestic, and the sky is beautiful. The cows have to like it. I know I sure do.

Helena is refreshing! Mooooo! lol I love that the water is green and the sky blue and that boat is so huge. This is a gorgeous image, Cornelius, and no one can say otherwise. What the heck do cows know about art anyway? We have all been in that place and the only reason I can figure is that some think they elevate their work by denigrating others. How sad!
Let's moooooooove on and keep posting, Cornelius!

Container shipping has definitely change the face of shipping. Thanks for focusing on that change with this presentation. It's certainly worthy of high marks, IMHO. Lets wait and see how the cows eat the cabbage.

Very good view of a big boat, the picture is fine.About the C index then I'm also in the same boat as you and some others so don't worry.

First, thanks for a very nice photo of "the floating home" that we are both used to. Next, don't let the C-Index upset you Cornelius. Many of those who are supposed to "evaluate" your photo don't even care what they are looking at. Some are absolute beginners with no idea of how much effort it takes to present a good photo and some are just callous - like flower haters, for example. I don't let them upset me any more as I did in the beginning.

Hoi, Cornelius!
gewoon verwijderen!
John

ohhhh so that is where my parcel is lol! ...the ship is certainly well laiden ...very good capture of this huge vessel Cornelius!

ps my C index is at an all time low, so best just to ignore it because my photography has not changed much. I don't let it worry me - if I like it then that is all that matters.

This is yet another example of you mastery of photography and presentation Cornelius - very well done.

The low voters rarely come forward and explain the reasoning behind their number so we are forever left in the dark.
I think the C could sometimes mean 'crazy'

I agree on all said here Cornelius! I too have those very low C-indexes on many of my images. I will miss your lovely farm series. I for one liked them a lot! This ship is also a great shot. Love all the colors. Very well done!

I could watch these giant container ships all day Cornelius and of course I see them all the time coming and going on The Mersey. This is a beautiful shot.

Do not be downhearted at a less than favourable c-index score. This happens all the time to me. I've posted shots that I'm more than pleased with of The River or The Waterfront, received thoughtful and positive comments and then had c-index scores of less than 20! Ignore them and the score and post to make yourself happy not them!!

Great shot C and hopefully the containers contain cows that are about to be deposited where they belong. I really liked you farmhouse series because it gave such a good feel for the rural feel of your country. You pride of country and sea really shows through in your photos.

I too have my issues with the so called "brave bovine." My best example is the best score I have received of a golf course shot is a dog taking a whizz on a outhouse. That in itself explains a lot to me. You are one of the true greats on Caedes and we all know it. Cows be damned.

I noticed, that cow-indexes with any parts of architecture are most of the time low, so do not worry about that and show us more farmes - but I am also happy to see this beauty in the very good way you present it to us.

Hi Cornelius,
I've noted some low c-indexes on my images as well, I don't mind that much now, I've learned that if you post a certain type of image, no matter how beautiful it is, it will get a high score, and other types of images will get low scores,
For example, portraits generally get low scores so I'm more than happy if I get 50 or higher,

As for this image, I like it, the colours are very nice, as is the composition/interaction between the boat and the ocean,
Nicely done,

Thanks for sharing
Warm regards
Tim

The heck with indices of any kind. You keep on taking your gorgeous photos of farm houses, estate worker dwellings and whatnot. They all have your signature sharp focus, cool objectivity and each one tells a story. Meanwhile, this huge boat is fantastic. Keeps in mind that Holland is first and foremost a trading and maritime nation that has a continuous battle against the rising sea.
