Patiently (?) waiting till the sluice gate opens. Captured in the locks of Veere, Zeeland, The Neterlands.
Hope you'll enjoy this image and thanks in advance for any comment.
A very nice image Cornelius! Only seafarers who have often waited so long in front of and in the Antwerp locks at 2 A.M. can truly understand what you mean :)

You are neither taxed nor fined if you look at My Gallery.
Reading the comments above, think some extra information is wellcome.
The boats are coming from the 'Channel through Walcheren' and like to sail to the 'Lake of Veere'. The waterlevels in the channel and the lake aren't equal because of tidal influences. Therefore the boats have to pass the locks of Veere. At the back side of the boats (not to be seen) and in front of the boats there's a sluice gate. The backside sluice gate is opened and the front one is closed when the boats are sailing into the sluice. Once in the sluice, the back door is closed as well and the water level is brought to the same height as the Lake of Veere. When this is done the front gate can be opened and the boats will continue their way. This process is rather time consuming, so the yachtsmen need to have at least 'some' patience. Realise that the boats during this process have to be moored with slipping hawsers instead of being moored with hawsers of a fixed lenght. This can be seen on the image as well.
Wow Cornelius, fab'd this one. Love all the boats waiting to get out of the locks. Fabulous colours and detail, love the composition of this scene. BRAVO
The colors in this shot really stand out. You don't see orange roofs over here, like the one on the left. I like that yellow boat, too. Very nice, Cornelius.
Thanks for the extra info. It helped to make this whole scene more understandable to me.
Everyone has remarked on the wonderful "primary" colors you've captured here, and for good reason. They are excellent and give us a great view of these ppl earing their keep!
