Captured the backside of those centuries old, but nowadays still used, houses in Middelburg, Zeeland, The Netherlands.
Hope you'll enjoy this post and thank you in advance for any comment.
There is something wonderful about the look, the texture and the colour of old brick buildings. These buildings look so good, Cornelius. the angles of those marvellous tiled roofs is another element in this great image.

Why not live a little and look at My Gallery.
Volledig eens met John.Deze antieke huizen hebben nog een ziel en Zeeland weet hoe het met zijn monumenten moet omgaan.Staal, glas en beton...de gruwel van onze snel-snel mentaliteit.
Very beautiful image of these interestingly build houses! The colors, clarity and textures are great!
I too love how they used to build the houses. So much better then now.
So very clear C. I like the back sides of houses. In my part of the world most people enter through the back or side door. Great shot. Hope you and yours have a great week.
May I be honest Cornelius? I just had this in the VB and I studied it for a long, long time. As a picture (to be blunt) it doesn't do much for me...just never been a real big fan of architectural shots such as this. Yet instead of grabbing a number from thin air and moving on I found myself studying the picture, admiring the composition, the clarity, the colors, the use of shadows and light. So while the picture doesn't do much for me personally I ended up giving it a score pretty much dead on with the c-index it is at now. Why such a detailed explanation? Perhaps just to restore some hope that there are people who admire the craftsmanship of a picture even if it doesn't do anything for them personally. Fine job on ALL of the technical aspects, sir.

~~Edit~~ The framing certainly adds something to the post - nicely done on that as well.
I think the building material is what has kept them looking fine and holding up for so many years. I love this construction and I like the way you framed the shot and then the image.
