Captured this lighthouse on March 21th, 2009 near the village of Westkapelle, on the west point of the peninisula Walcheren, Zeeland, The Netherlands. Just half a mile backwards of this spot the sand dunes and the sea dike are shade off into one another. Recently the sea dike was partly renewed (made even higher) to give us a better protection against the sea as the land behind the sea dike is far below sea level. I was told that the light house once was on top of the old dike, so it gives a good impression of the size of the dike now.
