Bergen op Zoom is a municipality and a city in the province of North Brabant, situated in the southern part of the Netherlands, and east of the province of Zeeland.

On this image the 'gevangenpoort' (gate in wich people were kept prison) can be seen. The 'gevangenpoort' is called 'lievevrouwepoort' ('Our Lady' gate) as well. The gate was built in the middle of the 14th century and is one of the oldest, still existing, gates in the Netherlands.

I agree with Bob, the composition is very good. It´s a beautiful gate. It´s hard to belive it was once used as a prison. Great work!

I'm sure I would love this very old city. I know just from viewing your photo. How clean and lovely it appears and the colors in the shot are very eye appealing. Thank you for the link too. It does look like a town that would be inviting to artists. I love this composition, Cornelius. Faved.

I really like the composition on this C. Especially how you placed the archway in the photo. Good eye and the colors are perfect. The buildings remind me of where Anne Frank would have hid for all that time. The buildings around our city squares were designed with the store below and living above. It made good sense.
