De 'Zuiderzee' don't exist no more. The Duch reclaimed the, so called, 'polders' from it. What remained of the former 'Zuiderzee' are now polders and several smaller lakes.
As Holland is a that small country, everthing is relative near to the province of Zeeland (when compared to the distances in e.g. the USA). To travel from from the place in Zeeland where I live to, what once was the 'Zuiderzee', will cost (when there's no traffic jam) about less than 3 hours.
Regards, Cornelius
PS: A polder is a low-lying (mostly below sea-level) tract of land, reclaimed from the sea, and enclosed by embankments known as dikes.
Thanks for the info Mr. C. This image brings us so much. A well composed image with such good lines, light and shadow play, and those beautiful clouds. =^..^= sandi ♪
This is really lovely. I like the different sections of this photo, the shadows at the bottom, then the green grass, the line of trees then the sky. Brilliantly presented too - well done!

Cornelius - The colors are terrific. But, I like most the lines - trees, shadows, clouds all leading the eye to the midpoint of the photo's left edge. Beautiful work! Thad
Anytime I see that much green grass in one spot, I think they should build a golf course Sea. It would make a beautiful treelined fairway. Wonderful shot from your part of the world.
Good health to you and yours.
I love the trees that appear to be getting smaller as they stand all lined up together... great use of perspective! And the half-shadowed, deep green grass looks soft enough to lie down in...
