This image shows you an ancient fort(ress), called 'Rammekens', built in 1547 and reconstructed in 1812 in order of the French emperor Napoleon to have control over the maritime traffic on the Western Scheldt on its way to and from Antwerp, Belgium. It can be found just behind the sea dike on the northern bank of the Western Scheldt river about three miles east from the town of Flushing (Zeeland, The Netherlands.). Nowadays it doesn't pose any threath, lol.

Hope you'll like this post. Thank you in advance for your comment.

Beautiful scene, Cornelius. The grasses, the trees, and the water have standout color, and I love that sky. Looks like a bright sunny day there, something we haven't had in a while.

Hey Mr C !! The colours here are absolutely magnificent, as per usual from you. You camera and you obviously work well together. This is an outstanding photo. Rammakins? I think those little "cups" to bake pudding or cakes in are called that. Wonder if they got that word from this. Your photos really touch my heart, their beauty is outstanding. Verena
