On this image the gothic city hall at the market place of Gouda is depicted. Gouda is a city and municipality in the western part of The Netherlands (province of South Holland). The city hall is one of the oldest gothic city halls in The Netherlands, as it's built between 1448 and 1450.

Hope you like this picture. Thank you in advance for your comment.

Cornelius, you can imagine what I thought when I saw the title - about the product LOL! I like the angle from which you took this. The textures are so clear and the city hall looks wonderful.

Cornelius - I'll take a small wedge of gouda cheese please. The long history of this building must be quite amazing. Certainly its architecture is. A wonderful photo. Thad

Is this the home of Gouda cheese Cornelius? When I visited Holland as a child I remember visiting a market where there were big round wheels and balls of cheese wrapped in red cellophane to me it looked like there were hundreds of them.
As a child Holland was my most favorite country to visit...thanks for bringing back nice memories

I sure would like some gouda cheese with salami on rye, right now. LOL. Beautiful shot, Mr. C. I think the architecture of years ago, is a lot more interesting than all the modern stuff they come up with now.

Use of the people in front gives the image scale. The ornate facade is well exposed and the details of the building are excellent. Thank you for bringing this bit of Holland and history to us.

PS- I saw the name and wondered how you were going to shoot a wheel of cheese! Now I have to put the crackers and wine away!!

Great capture of architecture lovely detail and the colour and focus is a 100%.Plus love the steeps leading up to the front of the building. I had a read of the history on Wikipedia and your photo of the building is far better than there's so 10/10I also see it is a twin city to the place of a good friend of mine Gloucester.

From your shot I can tell from which direction the prevailing weather arrives. The stonework on the front of the building is worn down by that effect to the point of removing the relief character and leaving portions of a smooth wall behind. But what else could be expected of a 560-year-old edifice? The ornate detail is amazing but I particularly like that multi-curved cover over the doorstep. A terrific piece of architecture and a dandy capture of it. Thanks for sharing.
