I've explained it before, but for the people who may have missed this explanation, I'll repeat it again: a polder is a low-lying (below sea-level) tract of land, reclaimed from the sea, and enclosed by embankments known as dikes. Because it's reclaimed from the sea, it's flat as flat can be, lol. This image is captured in one of the polders of the peninsula South Beveland, Zeeland, the Netherlands.

Hope you'll enjoy this image. Thank you in advance for your comment.

With the natural framing this is a very good composition, deep warm colours and a real Dutch atmosphere. A wonderful photo Cornelius! Mich

Wow this is an extremely difficult landscape to photograph! I remember when i went to the Norfolk Broads it was so incredibly difficult to get a decent shot of the landscape because it was so flat. I think people underestimate how the undulations in the land create interest in a picture. When you have it all the time you dont notice it, it becomes normal. However, you have taken the impossible landscape and captured it perfectly. That is one big sky and without the framing this image would look empty. I take my hat off to you my friend, this is a job very well done :D

Cornelius - Very nicely framed by the two branches, with the rule of thirds applied (you followed the rules for this one - lol), and bold colors, you have posted a very fine image. Thad

The polder looks very fertile Sea. The sea has the power to reclaim it whenever it wants, but it sees it is being treated so well that it will let your countrymen use it. Wonderful scene.
Good health to you and yours.

I agree with Tick, the polder looks very fertile & has been put to good use. I live in an area where I'm surrounded my many bluffs for miles & miles ... so it's a treat to see such flat land. Love how the tree branches frame the scene. The blue & green are always so delightful together. Beautiful capture, Cornelius.

When we visited there, Paul taught us all about polders. Now I'm always on the look for them when I see pictures of your country. Thanks for the lesson and for the beautiful green polder.

Amazing shot Sir C. Such fertile ground to have been taken from the sea. Outstanding depth to this shot too.

Whoa! Interesting way to get back the land. I'd be afraid to live on it though. I like the framing with the trees. I'll have to put this in my polder folder. lol
