I do suppose that this macro of a species of the safflower (taken in an open field somewhere in Zeeland, the Netherlands) is an appropriate post for this F² (Foofy Friday).

Mr C, the colors are bold and vivid. I like the diagonal composition of the picture with the branch centering the theme.

Cornelius - A few years ago, one of my students had a hairdo like this. It looks better on the flower! I like the composition and capture of the subtle textures and colors of the flower bud. The sheen of the leaves on the left, from the sunlight, interferes a bit with the rest of the image, in my opinion. This different foofy is greatly appreciated. Thad

A most appropriate post for F², Mr. C. I have never seen one of these over here. It looks like a foofy that Royalty would have in their gardens. Super color and lighting, as well as clarity.

What a fascinating looking flower. I am going to look that up. That bold red tuft and the round body make it seem like a pretty ornament to perhaps hang on a tree at Christmas. Delightful image, Cornelius.
