When you view my 'Veere 52' image, you can see that the small town of Veere, Zeeland, the Netherlands, is surrounded by a medieval fortication. For this 'Veere 53' image I went downwards to the other side of the 'green' pond (is however the remains of a moat) with the result that Veere almost has disappeared now behind its fortification. I decided to post this image however because, to me, the former moat and its background exude a moody atmosphere (please forget the barbed wire, lol).

Hope you'll agree with me. Thanks in advance for your comment.

The image does generate that mood to me too!...

Hidden, but still a beauty behind the town

Groeten Michel

A very calm image Cornelius with a definite feeling of timelessness.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . The solitary duck is enjoying it as much as we are, Sea. I can see why you like the scene. I do like the hint of a city beyond.
Perfectly composed.
Good health to you and yours.

It is a beautiful view with all the greenery and the reflections and also the tower in the distance. Very nice capture, Cornelius.

I agree, the scene does convey a moody atmosphere ... as if one is about to enter a different time era from the past. Beautiful colors & reflections. Magnificent capture, Cornelius.

I like this view too, Mr. C. The steeple is eye catching, as well as the fence posts and wires in the water. Excellent shot.

Cornelius - It is hard to imagine in today's world that, in centuries past, this fortification was imposing and effective. It certainly is very effective in your capture. Beautiful work, my friend. Thad
