I have used my 'artistic freedom' (lol) by deciding not to crop the lower part of this image. To me, a relative wide open, so not negative, space enhances the by the silence created atmosphere.
Hope that I have achieved my goal and that you'll agree with me. Thanks in advance for your comment.

Why should you crop it? It is perfect as it is (and besides that, it complies with the rules of thirds). The light is great, and the calm water adds to the overall serene impression.

Cameras are like people--sometimes they lose focus.

Looks perfectly composed to me, Cornelius. the water is both foreground and midground and creates a nice lead in to the silhouetted shoreline. Putting the horizon on the upper third part of the image was also a great idea since our eyes look more to the upper part of an image.

Oh YEAH!!!!!!!!!!! I hope this gets into the perms gallery, what a total gem. Darkness in the bottom right balanced by the brightness in top left, perfectly positioned horizon and beautiful use of the small wedge that helps emphasise all the openness in the rest of the image. Awesome shot.
