The islands and peninsulas of the province of Zeeland, the Netherlands are surrounded by sea or artificial lakes (former sea). One of them is the Lake of Veere, a 22 kilometres long artificial lagoon, situtated between the peninsula's of North- and South-Beveland and Walcheren.
