Wonderful shot, Cornelius, I love it, lovely and interesting alley in autumn. I think I saw this tower in the other shot, behind the park. I like it very much.
Are there still knights in shining armor and damsels in distress there, Mr. C? I wouldn't mind taking a nice leisurely stroll through there myself, camera in hand, snapping as I go. You have captured a beauty here. I love that white tree (birch?), the colorful fall leaves, and the view of that steeple. Excellent presentation, as usual, Sir Cornelius! LOL.
Almost seems like a moat or river of cobblestones if you use your imagination. lol I love that birch tree and the red bricks in the sunlight while the street is in shadow. And the steeple of that church is in a most suitable position in this most lovely shot of Veere.
My first thought when I saw this shot was that it was leaning very slightly to the right based on the large tower or steeple in the background. However, other than the tree nothing else is right leaning; so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.
I would consider this a tough shot. With the extremes in light and dark and that clear blue sky which always reveals the noise in my shots, you've done an admirable job. Love the colors and the textures and the way the alley leads the eye into the shot.
