I suppose that you and I still prefer (Dutch) traditional windmills. Think however that these modern wind turbines are inevitable, so let's call it 'progression'.

Image is taken in de province of Zeeland, the Netherlands.

Hope you'll like this post. Thanks in advance for your comment

You get used to seeing them and hearing the sound. The world needs more of them.

Great shot . I also like the curves of this . We have several " Windmill Farms " in Indiana and more in the planning stages. I prefer the traditional but these do have their place and merits.

They do dominate the landscape and change the view. I agree the old wondmills are a lot more beautiful but I guess we do need these to get green energy. A very nice photo Cornelius.

I too like the old type, but I guess this is must anymore, the blades they use on these are so huge! I have seen them being hauled on trailers. Mr. C. you composed this one so well.

I like the old ones better too, but time can't stand still. We have a wind farm of 125 of those big turbines. Marvelous capture and such beautiful colours

Nice Pix !! I was in Denmark last year and saw these exact same Windmills. Very cool.

Those "tubular" portions in the back: can a person go INTO them ?? Just wondering.....

The shot is nice, Cornelius, but I prefer the real windmills, they have soul and beauty. What would Don Quixote do with these ones? LOL

Green power is very important. That kind of wind energy plants are so good to get 'clean' energy. Very nice capture.

It is a lovely post and they look quite elegant. I still think of them as a blot on the landscape though.

Your composition is wonderful - lovely curves and lines.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Zeeland (zie mijn laatste upload: "Old and modern times")
gemaakt in de omgeving van de Eemshaven, waar overigens
nu druk wordt gebouwd aan een grote 'kolen centrale' met een
CO2 uitstoot waar je "U" tegen zegt !

Vr. groet !

I still much prefer to see the original Dutch windmills, but as you say "its progression"! However, from a photographic point of view, this is lovely with the line of trees to the left, the wind turbines and that wonderful blue sky. The sun always seems to shine over there in Zeeland!
