The Eastern Scheldt Storm Surge Barrier, called 'Oosterscheldekering' in Dutch, was designed to protect the (southern part of the) Netherlands from flooding. For detailed information about this nine kilometres long Storm Surge Barrier, please check-out this link and/or this link.

This image shows the southern part of the barrier. Because of tidal reasons the seawater is flowing very fast and strong through it, so boats are not allowed there, because it's too dangerous.

Hope you like this image. Thank you in advance for your comment.

Fine post Mr.C, only wish our government was smart enough to build that type of barrier where we live. They're to busy fighting against each others Party Affiliation and lining their pockets with the Tax Payers Dollars.

The Worse part is most Americans don't even seem to care. A Once Great Nation going to ruins by Politicians and Politics.

America is soon to be a Third World Country. Hope I don't see it in my lifetime but we are quickly headed in that direction.

That is One Power Image you posted. See where it took my train of thought to. LOL.

Hope You and Yours are doing Well.

It is a amazing what your government has done for these lowlands!..A lot of history too...When I first read the book of the "Boy Who plugged a Dam with his Finger"...this was when I was a lad...so a lot of history passing us by!

An excellent composition my friend!..and such a great vantage point for it too!...

So many nice repetitive elements on the bridge, of the windmills and the grasses and flowers. So nicely cropped too. Interesting fact about boats not being allowed here. I wonder if some try anyway.
