I like to continue this series with this one, taken near the village of Domburg, Zeeland, the Netherlands. Please be aware of a tad 'optical illusion': the sea at the right side is leveled while the sea at the left side of the image seems to be somewhat tilted. It has nothing to do with lens distortion, but is caused by the Belgian coastline at a distance of 36.8 kilometres, or 19.87 nautical miles, or 22,87 miles.

I like it a lot Cornelius. Great depth and clarity and it makes me want to go for a walk there. Great work!

My compliments on a gorgeous shot once again, Mr. C. It sure is a beautiful view along the shoreline. I like all those pilings that are there, and that long path in the dunes.

Wouldn't have noticed that about the sea level had you not pointed it out. This sure looks so much like Cape Cod and seems to be as popular as the cape as well. Beautiful long view from here.

Cornelius - The Belgians are a bit tilted, so it is understandable that they offer that illusion to this photo. A beautiful scene - comp, color and lighting are excellent! Thad

#1) I wonder, Cornelius, if you have the same conversion software as me or if you just know how to convert kilometers to nautical miles to miles in your head.
#2) I agree with Hubert although I don't understand a word of what he wrote. I commend him for articulating his thoughts without being verbose.
#3) I think you screwed up the horizon and didn't know how to fix it because all of the people were walking at a left tilt.
#4) What is the purpose of the wood pilings every quarter mile that are perpendicular to the beach. Is this to prevent tanks from driving laterally along the beach in the event of an invasion? Or perhaps this is training in the hurdles or high jump for the upcoming Olympics.
#5) Next time you're bored, your task is to clone out the tourists but leave in the vehicle on the walking path.
