I know when I was on the 'HMS Trincomalee' frigate that is based in Hartlepool..the rigging on there is a maze...how the hell the old sailors knew which is which is certainly 'confusing'!

It is a fine image Cornelius and really captures the essence of the ship. I would hate to have to climb that rigging !

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Yes it looks confusing Cornelius but we know that the seamen know which one to pull or slac and when. Nice shot with the blue ska as background.

It's easy Cornelius. You take the third rope from the left and splice it with the one in the middle, you can then tie it to the one on the far left and, as they say here, "Bob's your Uncle!", it's all neat and tidy!

Wonderful textures in this shot with all the wood and rigging - it does look a bit like a rope jungle.

With all those ropes, great care had to be taken to keep the ship sailing. A history of ropes on sailing ships might be enlightening.
