Stormy weather didn't prevent this man to go out fishing. This image was taken at the north border of the Western Scheldt river, near Flushing, Zeeland, the Netherlands.

I hope you'll like it. Thanks in advance for your comment

Lovely image with the foaming sea and cloudy sky Cornelius. I doubt whether the man will catch any fish under these conditions.

I remember the times I used to do this...Finishing a nightshift...and a trip to the ocean for good wake up!

The rough seas make the fish get closer to the shores..so that makes a fisherman very happy for his breakfast!..

Excellent post and thanks for those memories!

Our SOB [sweet owd Bob] explained the circumstances and now I approve of the image :) Otherwise I had my doubts as to any chances of catching fish so close to the shore ...
Taken probably in the summer, isn't it? Judging by the clothes of the man. Lt Columbo never rests LOL

Well done Cornelius. The breaking waves and the patient fisherman's stance; plus the clouds and the ship make a lovely photo. Fantastico.

His thoughts are lost at sea, while his bait does the work, SEA.
This shot oozes tranquility.

I love the simple composition here and the diagonal pole directs our attention to the fisherman in the shadow.

There are always many such fishermen at every high tide fishing from The Prom. They all have lots of equipment but I've never seen them catch anything and I don't even know what they're trying to catch. Your image sums up the dedication to their hobby perfectly.
