I can't offer you images of (snowed) mountains or something like that because the area where I live (a couple of islands and peninsula's surrounded by sea) is flat as flat can be. Therefore this area got already in the medieval time the name 'Zeeland' (Sea land). Most of the people of Zeeland (province of the Netherlands) are living below sea level, but we've learned in the past centuries by struggling how to keep our feet dry (lol). The way how Hans Brinker was said that he had managed to do so, is just a fairy tale. In order to protect us from the always (up till now) threatening sea, more complex and very expensive solutions are required, like the Eastern Scheldt storm surge barrier.
Depicted is here a part of that barrier. One will be impressed by the fast flowing water and its force when looking downwards to the sea while beeing on the top floor of his barrier.
Hope you'll like this image. Thanks in advance for your comment.
