'Ter Hooge' is the name for a castle and landed estates around this castle and is situated west of the town of Middelburg, peninsula Walcheren, Zeeland, The Netherlands. The first castle Ter Hooge was built approximately 1300. Nowadays only one tower of the 'old' castle remains. The 'new' castle was built in 1754 - 1759.

It's my intention to show you in this series some of the forest (in an autumnal environment) around the castle and the castle itself (from the outside).

The images of this series were recently captured (November 13th, 2014).

That is a handsome old structure and the near mirror reflection is amazing, Mr. C. A perfect composition, too. Just gorgeous all the way around!

Incredible! The lighting and reflections are amazing. The framing by the trees on either side, and the golden foliage add so much. I love all the small turrets.

But I noticed the building is in the water...it seems that it would seep upwards to the rooms inside.

And the clock even tells us when you took the capture. :)

Connie, thought first that the castle lord has forgotten to ask to his servant to set back the clock according the winter season time, but when I compared the time with my exif data, think now that the clock stands still.

This is really beautiful Cornelius. You took this at a perfect time of day. The overcast clouds make the image rich and saturated with color plus you get that great reflection of the estate in the water.
