I'm not familiar with maritime rules but, with those long oars, something's got to give! lol I really like all the color of the rowers and the orange roofs. Good one.
An interesting situation. Well captured with good color and setting. Everything does not have to be picture perfect, it just needs to have a picture for history.
This is similar to a scene here in Venice. There is a historic regatta held during the first week of September. The regatta is beautiful to witness, though total chaos on the canals. Well done, Cornelius.
Any boat rowed by men shall give way and keep clear of a boat rowed by women. :) Beautiful scene with all the rowing boats, building and the blue water Cornelius. A very nice capture!
It wouldn't take much for a traffic jam to occur there in the water. One errant paddle maneuver and there you go! This scene is gorgeous, Mr. C. I am partial to boating scenes to begin with, but the building on both sides of the channel are a sight to behold. Excellent capture.
Now that's a lot of rowers, looks like they are gathering as a club going out on a adventure. Gorgeous capture and composition, so many beautiful things to look at and such wonderful colours and lighting
Splendid capture Mr.C. This image draws me in - I actually feel like a spectator watching the race. The composition is wonderful as well as the colors and the main subjects - the rowers!!! As per usual - superb work:-)
Hey Cornelius what's the rules here. Is it anything goes? That's quite a colorful shot and they don't look like they have much room to play around with. Good capture.
Cornelius - A traffic jam of sculls can be difficult to sort out, as they don't maneuver very easily. But, they do look beautiful when in motion - both for the synchronized motion and color. With the background of city buildings and boats, color abounds here! Well down, my friend. Thad
A narrow place for all those rowers, but I think they are used to that. It is so beautiful to see them all row in sinc with each other during their races. Great shot Mr. C.
If you've ever wanted to make a difference but found it hard to believe that one person could... check out the Kiva Team Caedes discussion thread and discover that anything is possible.
Cornelius, I wanted to edit your image in CS6 to remove that thin white frame on the sides and CS6 pops up the following message with all your images: "Could not complete your request because of an unknown or invalid JPEG marker is found." Other Cades images do not cause this problem. What do you make of it?
Pat (aka (owd) Momma) has reported me a problem above. I've sent Pat this PM:
Hello Pat,
Thanks for this PM. You're the first one that have reported me such a problem. Really wish that I can offer you a solution, but as long as I don't know what the problem is, I can't resolve this. The only thing now that I can do is to tell you what I did: my images are captured in NEF, most of the time by a Nikon D5300 body. In fact NEF is identical in RAW. RAW-images need some processing/treatment. After when this has be done, they are stored by me as 6000 x 4000 pixels TIFF-images. Caedes allows me not to upload TIFF-images and allows me not to upload a size of 6000 x 4000 pixels as well, so I have to convert them into 3000 x 2000 PNG-images. Before uploading them to Caedes, I add - with the aid of a Photoshop plug-in - a border with a thin white line. Then the images are uploaded. After uploading, I download this image to one of my external HD's as well for back-up reasons. I see that these images have a double extension: 'image.jpg.png'. I can view the by me downloaded images on my screen without any problem. Therefore it's strange that your CS6 don't accept this format, the more that other Caedes-friends don't seem to have this problem.
Maybe this is a possible solution: after downloading you see a title, e.g. corngrowth-1417779409.jpg. But if you 'right click' with your mouse and you select 'properties' and after that 'details' you'll see however that the title has changed into corngrowth-1417779409.jpg.png. Try to delete 'png' or even 'jpg.png' and in the latter case add a new extension 'jpg' on it. Perhaps it can help to open this image by CS6 for editing (cropping the border).
Try to change what you can't accept, but accept what you can't change. Please CLICK HERE to see my journal! Feel free to save my images or to add them to your favorites.
great MM post
