This almost silhouetted 'against the light' image is taken on the Western Scheldt, Zeeland, The Netherlands. The sail boat on the left side on this image has almost ended the ride, so its crew are making preparations for approaching the Flushing Yacht Harbor by lowering the main sail (the fore sail is already rolled) and by starting the engine (propulsion).

The sunbeams coming through the clouds add drama to this scene. Personally, I prefer to motor around the waters as I was never good a sailing a boat. Lovely shoreline, Cornelius.

Magnificent shot Mr. C with the three boats and the light rays. I love the surface of the water here as it promises good sailing. I'd love to be in one of the sailboats just now.

Thanks for the narrative which adds explanation to the scene.

When I see your images, I say to myself that there really is a place where the water shimmers like silver and rays fall from billowing clouds and ships sail through the beauty of it all...

Truly magical.
