Peeking trough some of my 'bins', I 'discovered' this one recently. It was taken already on July 13th 2009. It shows the 'stealthy' landing of a heron near a forest edge on the northern part of the peninsula Walcheren, Zeeland, The Netherlands.
I can't tell you why I've not posted this one before, but there must have been any reason, lol.
PS: because of family-commitments I'll be not on Caedes for commenting and uploading images at least till Wednesday February, 25th.

What a pose, what a landing. Birds are difficult for shooting and you caught it in the right moment. Excellent work, Cornelius.

This is a beautiful shot of the heron in flight Cornelius. With me it happen that I take a number of photos at one time and forget to go back and look at the previous set of photos or the one before that to see if there is anything worth posting.

That is a beautiful shot of the heron in flight, Mr. C. Outstanding camera work. This shot has a very warming effect on me, since it is still very cold here. Excellent post.

A wonderful in flight shot which is not easy to do with a heron Mr. C. - the blue really pops against all the green. I think we all have thousands of photos and occasionally I'll find one and wonder what I didn't like about at the time. LOL

People are like cameras--sometimes they lose focus.
Wow this is one outstanding photogaphy with lovely lush greens foliage outstanding light and great detail .
Plus I love the reflection of the trees in the water and the shadows in this one too.Also this is one that you must enlarge to see true quietly and the foliage at the front adds a nice touch too.

Beautiful action shot Mr. C.!!! Herons can be quite a challenge to photograph in flight and this image is an excellent capture. The Heron is most likely flying to the waters edge to catch a bite to eat. Magnificent Photography!!!

If you stare at an orange juice container because it says, "CONCENTRATE"...you might be a redneck.
The herons make landing in among the trees look so easy Mr. C. Great capture and pretty scenery. The greens are beautiful as are the reflections in the water.
