The pilot cutter 'Loodsboot 7' (homeport Antwerp, Belgium) on a Flushing, Zeeland, The Netherlands, jetty on a standby position.

On the aft deckhouse the cook and another crew member are, in spite of a threatening thunderstorm, probably talking about dinner, lol.

This 'cutter' is one of the 3 remaining 'traditional or classical types'. They will be replaced by twin hull boats soon.

Characteristics: built 1978, Length 55.3 m, draft 3.7 m, Crew 18.

Nice capture of the old pilot boat which causes a little nostalgia in me. I watched a video yesterday about a most modern pilot vessel which serves most North Sea ports. It is quite interesting . Here is the link :Lotsen im Sturm

The yellow really stands out against the sky SEA.
They were probably hoping you would join them and share some stories.
Another great shot from the "Not so ancient," Mariner.

A gorgeous harbour shot Mr. C. This ship is fabulous and against that dramatic sky, it makes a wonderful photograph. I would love to tour one of these someday and I'd love to be in the pilothouse as it steams out of that harbour.

This is a gorgeous harbour shot, Mr. C. The colors...especially the yellows..really stand out nicely. I love the way the yellow is reflecting off the water, too. Excellent work, as usual.

There is much to admire in this shot Mr. C. - the colors for one and skies for another - another great harbor scene.

Colorful and interesting harbour scene... understand the reason for standby with a storm approaching so dinner sounds good right about now, lol...great shot, SEA.

Dear agent SEAS,
What would the undersigned do and where would they be without your keeping them updated as to the shipping news of the world, in particular Netherlands...?
Yes, twin hulls are the new fashion. New and not new, depends how you look at it, I realise.
Thanks for this old-fashioned marine beauty!

Interesting description, it's a shame they are replacing these super looking boat with the newer kind. Excellent detail and composition, love that threatening sky.
