This image was captured on March 8th, 2014 in the town of Goes, Zeeland, The Netherlands.

Depicted is the 'Large Church', called 'Mary Magdalene Church' too. The construction of the church started in 1423. On September 11th, 1618 the church was seriously damaged by fire. The reconstruction started the same year and was completed in 1621. The church has in its intersection a carillon with 47 bells, the heaviest weighing 965 kg. It's still playing nowadays and causes a nice atmosphere in the surrounding streets of Goes.

So beautiful and serene scene Cornelius. I can hear the bells when I look at this. No, I am not suffering from tinnitus :) Excellent composition, clarity and colours.

I can see no better position to photograph Mary's Church than where you shot this from, Cornelius. The natural surroundings frame the subject beautifully. Fantastico!

Such a beautiful scene - looks like it offers peace and tranquility!!! I love the composition - reflective water in the foreground leading the viewer's eye to that glorious church. I can almost hear the carillon infusing the air with wonderful tones. Excellent Mr. C. BTW - loved your narrative.

That church has stories to tell, some of which no one well but those with duty born will would want to hear.

Taken together the balance, color, natural life, life-of-the-mind, and two of nature's elementals (water and air) yield a photograph that is both a tranquil but seriously potent expression of our still evolving humanity, and an expression of what can come of what has been.

(Sorry, I get this way when I see things like that; I'm going now.)
