The late painter Salvador Dalí (May 11, 1904 - January 23, 1989) was not only famous by his artwork but for his his eccentric manner and attention-grabbing public actions as well.

This can even be seen in this ornamental garden sculpture, lol. Therefore I've selected this capture both as an early 'Wacky Wednesday' entry and an entry for Lyn's B&W challenge.

To know where I have captured this image, please check-out this link or this one.

He does look like he could be a real zany character. Excellent capture, and a good one for the challenge, Mr. C. Top notch detail in the shot.

Salvador Dali has been my beloved artist for ever... As to his being crazy, this must come together with exceptional sensitivity and freedom in perception & expression. Thanks, dear SEAS, for this portrait of my love ...[Boris, be quiet, the man was dead before you were born!]
Excuse Boris for this interruption, please :)

---Boris, be quiet, the man was dead before you were born!---

With your above comment, you've brought me into a 'continuous chuckling or grin mode', SAM. Hope that this will be stopped before I go to bed. If so, thanks for the smile! If not, I'll blame you for that my dear.

PS: give your CIC SAAB aka Boris an extra bone, and he will be quiet, lol.

Mr. C. thanks for the links, I did check them out, beside being a good whacky Wednesday post, and a challenge entry, the details are so good it would be a good one for the current eyes contest. I'm so glad you are entering in the challenge, and I hope to see more.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Visiting a Dali exhibit is quite an event with his eccentric and unusual style of art. I have a photo of his likeness in wax from Madame Tussaud's in Amsterdam. I hope to share it with you one day. I do like this in B/W and as Sandi pointed out, it's perfect for the challenge and the "eyes" contest. Bravo Cornelius.

I might be tempted to say he looks just a wee bit crazy but, if you look through a collection of his works, many of his self portraits look just like this. Crazy but talented with a mind right out of Hieronymous Bosch's subconscious.

Salvador Dali, een geweldige kunstenaar, maar zijn ogen staan hier op steeltjes.
Geef je niet veel kans in de 'Eye'contest, Cornelius, maar
wens je toch heel veel succes !
