Hello dear friends,

With this post I just like to drop in, in order to give you an update of my (medical) situation.

Think that most of you may know that I'm suffering from Lyme disease caused by the bite of a tick.

In the first place: thanks for your concern, shown by e-mail, PM's, or in other ways. Highly appreciated!

In the second place: I was stupid to ignore a growing red ring (erythema migrans) on my right leg caused by the, by the tick injected, Borrelia burgdorferi bacterias. By ignoring it, the bacterias were able to hide in my central nerve system, so creating there an almost unreachable place for antibiotics. In fact I was too late when I got all not explainable disease symptoms.

To make a long story short: in spite that the the doctor has prescribed antibiotics for a couple of months, the situation has grown worse. Every day I got more tired, felt weak and sick, and wasn't able to stand on my feet because of the pain. In cooperation with my doctor, I have chosen for an alternative treatment with the duration for more than half a year.

I'm two months underway now and luckily I see some improvement, having some good, but still having very much bad days as well. I feel yet not able to resume my normal Caedes activities (going for a photo shoot, posting images and commenting on yours). When I have a good day, I only view the images announced in my friends-list, and after that I clear the announcements. I hope however that I can resume my Caedes activities like I got used to do in the past. 'Hope' and 'patience' therefore are my key words now.

Best regards from Holland to all of you, Cornelius aka Sea, or mr. C.

PS: of course, this image comes from the bin, lol.

It is wonderful to learn that you are on the road to recovery and I'm sorry that you had to endure all the pain and suffering. My father had Lyme disease from a deer tick bite. He too had much pain, though he is now better, with occasional flare-ups of pain and drowsiness.

It's nice to know that you periodically stop by and visit your friends images. We all miss you, your photos and comments. Rest up, my friend and beat this thing! All the best....

Mr. C - so glad You decided to update everyone and slide in a post from Your bin. (That's a lot of lines on this parachute - don't know how they keep them from getting tangled. It is a great shot of the person parachuting.) Keep a positive attitude and hopefully the worst days of this dreaded Lyme disease are behind You. It is nice to know that You are viewing our posts and don't worry about commenting or overtaxing Yourself. We will be here when You are strong and well once again, Mr. C.

I had not been made aware of this. I'm glad you said what you did about taking action if one sees a red ring. I'll remember that. Also glad you are on the road to recovery. Post when you can.

Cool image Cornelius!!!
As for the Lyme disease that you are suffering from, hope it all gets sorted and sooner rather than later!!!

I'm sure a lot of us are out and about in the countryside this time of year. If so, it might be worth Googling 'Lyme Disease' and seeing where its prevalent, etc. I knew about it from reading an article on a climbing website and was surprised/shocked that such a thing even existed and it wasn't really public knowledge. I now carry tick removers with me and wouldn't hesitate to go to a hospital if I was at all suspicious.
