Capturing this one, has almost caused a dilemma to me. In such nightly conditions I prefer to choose a relative long shutter opening time. But a lot of other 'moving' visitors at the scene would have destroyed my result. Reducing the shutter opening time, on the other hand, would have produced more noise and the loose of DOF. So I've searched for a compromise. Hope that I have succeeded in doing this.
This night time shot shows the Russian frigate 'Shtandart' (homeport St. Petersburg), captured from the stern position, while moored in a dry-dock in Flushing, Zeeland, The Netherlands. The 'Shtandart' is a replica of the, in 1703 built, original 'Shtandart'. The replica made her maiden trip in 2000.
