Depicted is, under a threatening sky, the STS (Sail Training Ship) Mir on Flushing Roads, Zeeland, The Netherlands, ready for a port call.
After it has sailed into the harbor, it was open to the public. I took some captures there as well, but to me they are less interesting because I had to capture the, unavoidable, crowd as well.

Mr. C. I hear you about the crowds, it can sure make our hobby difficult. For this shot I think it is wonderful, that vessel looks so grand, and I really like the almost pastel type color in the sky. I think this is really well done, bravo Mr. C. tigs=^..^=

Excellent shot of this STS "Mir" ahgainst the sky Cornelius. In Hamburg sailing ship from all over the world come when here the "Hafengeburtstag" is celebrated. I only went there once long ago and saw that taking a photo was impossible.

This is a fantastic looking vessel and so well captured against that sky. I like the smaller cruiser and sailboat in this because it really gives scale. Fine image Cornelius.
