Perhaps the title of this image is somewhat strange to you, so I'll try to provide you with an explanation: at the left side of this image one can read on the sea front wall the text (when viewed at full screen size) 'Uncle Beach', with the subscription 'We will remember'.
Below this sea front wall and below the windmill there's a small beach. In WWII this beach was an assault beach, which was given the code name 'Uncle Beach'.
For detailed information, one can check-out this link, in particular the text: "The amphibious landings were conducted in two parts on November 1. Operation Infatuate I consisted mainly of infantry of the 155th Infantry Brigade (4th and 5th battalions King's Own Scottish Borderers, 7th/9th battalion, Royal Scots) and No. 4 Commando, who were ferried across from Breskens in small landing craft to an assault beach in the south-eastern area of Vlissingen, codenamed "Uncle" Beach. During the next few days, they engaged in heavy street fighting against the German defenders."
Almost near the same spot, there's a sculpture showing a fighting soldier of the 'No 4 Commando', depicted by me and posted here.
