Depicted in Zeeland, The Netherlands is an Antonov An-2 designed by the Ukrainian Antonov Aeronautical Scientific-Technical Complex (Antonov ASTC). The AN-2 flew for the first time on August 31, 1947. The An-2 remained in production until 1991. This plane, registered as 'DM-SKL' now, was noted first in service on May 10, 1958. The aircraft is owned by the German 'Classic Wings' now.

It's my contribution for the weekly B&W challenge.

PS: I like to use this opportunity to say 'Many Thanks' for your encouraging words sent to you by PM, emails or in another way during my absence from Caedes due to my illness. Very much appreciated, dear friends!

Welcome back, Cornelius. You were certainly missed here and I hope that your health worries are over. Lufthansa and flight have come a long way since the AN-2. I always enjoy your incredible "In Flight" series. Well done.

So glad you are back "on deck" Cornelius :)
Thank you for this fine image which I have added to the list ready to post on the BWC on Wednesday.
It is your turn to select an image there as Nikoneer selected your "Wint'ry Sea Front Stroll"

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

---Welcome back, SEA! I don't know why you were absent but glad to see your return.---

Pat (SAW),
Thanks for your supportive and encouraging comment.
In the narrative of this one, you can read that I'm suffering from chronic Lyme disease (as the result of the bite of a tick).
My physical condition has deteriorated recently in such a way that I got a severe pneumonia with complications. After another treatment, I still feel weak and tired, but the situation now slowly improves. Hope that this progression/improvement will go on in such a way that I'm able to go out for a photo shoot soon.
Hope that I can provide Caedes with images on a more regular basis, as I have a lot of them in my bin.

There were several B(rilliant) & W(onderful) entries that could have achieved this glorious pinnacle of achievement, the artist basking in the glory of a career-topping archieving event and achieved financial independence for the rest of the artist's achieveable life but.... hmmmm? This is not the Oscars? Oh... well, then, I reeeeally like this plane photo and I think it should be the b&w image of the week. Congrats, Mr. C.
