On Jan 21th, 2017 I've provided you with this Panta Rhei Sunset image. This sunset image was, together with more than 100 other ones, taken in the freezing cold of the night of January 19th, 2017 on the beach adjacent to the Flushing, Zeeland, The Netherlands, sea front.

I've showed these NEF (NEF is the Nikon version of RAW) images to my (only) son on one of his frequently visits. The today uploaded one had, without any doubt, his preference instead of the Panta Rhei Sunset. Think it's just a matter of taste rather than a 'generation-gap', ☺ ☺ ☺ . So, I'm curious for your opinion.

Cornelius, I am enjoying them both. My preference, by the slimmest of measurements is, "Panta Rhei Sunset." But, could any viewer go wrong with either?

I hope your hands have thawed after a photo session in the bitter cold! :-) You had you camera settings correct for this image. Like John, I prefer the other, as the buildings and sweep of the beach offers more to the image.

I have to say that both are so beautiful, I love the deep color in this one, and it seems more dramatic. But the other one does have some nice additional elements to it, that make it a picture perfect image. I'm still trying to decide Mr. C. :) tigs=^..^=

I think your son must like the drama of this one as the colors are more dramatic and the composition more simple. I prefer the first for the more interesting array of colors and the wonderful balance of the composition. Although Mr. C. - it is rather like choosing between two absolutely gorgeous roses!

Extraordinary capture! You have incredible sunsets...they are on fire! I like the colors of the curved water at the front shoreline and the dark water break. Then there is the faint image of windmills on the horizon.

I do favor the "Panta Rhei Sunset" because of the buildings with the reflecting windows and the overall composition, but it cannot be denied that this image is gorgeous!
