With THIS ONE, I've showed and told you that the traditional windmill De Lelie (The Lily) (only available in the Dutch language) built in 1872 and situated in the village of Koudekerke, peninsula Walcheren, Zeeland, The Netherlands, was getting maintenance in order to keep it in a good condition.

I saw on a recent photo shoot that the maintenance was completed, so that it can 'shine' (and grind) in full glory again.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

The "Lily" is certainly looking prettier and shining as well. Nice capture of this old mill in all its glory Cornelius.

We look to the Netherlands to see what maintenance should look like. After Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans and the surrounding areas, we were shown photos of seawalls in the Netherlands and the ones here. Our windmills compare just about as favorably meaning not at all. I love the way you guys handle your infrastructure as much as I love this photo plus the ones showed in the links you provided.

As for the shot itself, I know that you see your photographs as a living portrait of what you see. However, I would have stupidly cloned out the car. Bad habits die hard.

Okay, the wrapping was impressive in your "this one" shot, but ... wow! Talk about a beauty of architecture and engineering! De Lelie is beautiful!

Terrific photograph, C! The lighting and angle are wonderful.

Cornelius, I really think this is a beautiful capture. It's so nice to see they keep so nice looking for the photographers out there. The title to this one means something a bit different for me, as we have a tv ad for a car wash called "Drive and Shine" :) tigs=^..^=
