This sculpture of St. George fighting with the dragon can be found on top of an ancient (1582) house in Middelburg, Zeeland, The Netherlands. For further details and an overall view of this house please see/read this image with its narrative.

It's a 'rework' (a new shot however) of this colored version because of a better camera/lens and cloning out the spikes.

It's my weekly entry for the Wednesday B&W challenge (BWC).

The b/w version really stands out against the background. Sharp details overall. Good one for the challenge Cornelius.

You got exceptional detail in this Cornelius considering the height this statue is at ! maybe you did some roof climbing ?
The dragon is slain and St Joris has won.
Although the colours of the statue are splendid I think this BW version suits it best. It must have been a painstaking job cloning out the spikes.
Nice work all round !
Added to the BWC list, thank you

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

You did a superb job of cloning, and for me I do prefer this version, why? I think it is sharper, more detail, and it stands out so well. tigs=^..^=

Excellent work Mr. C - although I do miss that beautiful deep blue sky.

Great B/W image, I think it works fine against the dark sky

Very interesting! I resembles a scene you may see here if you try taking your horse across the Hillsborough river. :)
