The small castle 'Duinbeek', situated at a forest edge on the northern part of the peninsula Walcheren near the village of Oostkapelle, Zeeland, The Netherlands, was built in 1715.

The castle has:

-a main building (in the centre of this image) which is almost surrounded by a moat, but not good visible on this image,

-a coach-house, with stable and carriage house (left side of this image) and

-a gardeners house (right side of the image) with a hunting room and a large barn.

This image, taken on March 28th, 2017, is my weekly entry for the Wednesday B&W challenge (BWC).

I am sure this looks beautiful n colour as well but I believe the B&W brings out all the fine architectural detail of the castle.
A super piece of work Cornelius.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

You have an excellent eye. I probably never would have had the wherewithal or intelligence to shoot the castle straight on. I can see that the previous comments mention the monotone and the composition; so I'll simply say that I agree. Fine detail and excellent use of light and dark contrast.

Dorothy Michaels: No, just Dorothy. Alan's always Alan, Tom's always Tom and John's always John. I have a name too. It's Dorothy, capital D-O-R-O-T-H-Y.
