We have similar 'cobblestone' streets near me...(Durham city, for one)..The twins love it when we push their buggies on these...they laugh as they shake!..lol
Great composition, really like the textures that come through brilliantly, the roof, the walls, the cobblestone and the trees and plants. Light is perfect.
I believe that is a very warm little alley - I can feel the warmth radiating from the brick and cobbles. It is a delightful scene and you have captured it perfectly. Timeless
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
Love the stone alley way and beautiful brick faade. You can tell it's old by the quality of the surrounding work. You don't see that type of work here anymore.
This Image GRABBED my EYE. That's Why I Stopped By. Thanks For Sharing ! Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience
As I looked at this shot, Cornelius, I thought it looked uncharacteristically right leaning. I then realized that the plant stand was leaning to the right because of the uneven surface by maybe a billionth of a degree. I also noticed that the buttressed walls had further confused me. I am happy to say that your shot leans neither left nor right.
The detail work on your photographs is truly inspiring. With cobblestone streets, tile roofs and brick building, you've captured every nook and cranny although I'm not really sure what a cranny is.
Dorothy Michaels: No, just Dorothy. Alan's always Alan, Tom's always Tom and John's always John. I have a name too. It's Dorothy, capital D-O-R-O-T-H-Y.
Scenes like this make me miss traveling the world in the military. I always loved Europe because of the history like this scene potrays. As always, well done my friend.
A good angle here, and it looks well kept too!
