Referring to Dorothy's comment above: it's chromatic aberration.
It's possible to correct some of the effects of chromatic aberration in digital post-processing (to fix the red/cyan and/or blue/yellow fringe). Because this image has only chromatic aberration on its left side, it isn't helpful however because corrections are applied lateral over the whole image: the chromatic aberration will disappear on the left side of the image, but appears on the right side of the image.
