Another 'oldie' from one of my 'bins'.

It was taken during the 'Sail de Ruyter' event, held in Flushing, Zeeland, The Netherlands in August, 2013.

People visiting this event, got the opportunity to make a free ride along a part of the Zeeland coast on some of the participating ships. One of these ship was the depicted 'Boudeuse', a French three mast schooner built in 1916 in The Netherlands. The ship has Fecamp as its home port. This 'tall ship' measures 46 meters, is 7 meters wide and has a depth of 2.7 meters.

It was a pity that the weather condition's weren't that optimal (very hazy), but I did my best to provide you with the, for me, best achievable result.

Mr. C. I think you handled this very difficult shot very well. It just adds a good perspective to being at sea, and what mother nature might throw at you. . tigs=^..^=

In spite of the haze you have got a very good shot of this beautiful old timer with nice and clear details.

I always had a dream to live in those times C....I did (and still do..) a lot of reading of the history of these sea-faring tales...I thought I would make a great 'swashbuckling sailor' with my sword and a parrot on my shoulder...yelling 'Pieces of Eight' in mu ear-hole!.... eh!..lol

Now THAT would be something! I would love to go on a sail in one of these.

I think it's a great shot, C! And the haze gives it kind of a mystical quality and removes the distraction of background from the ship.

Agh C you olde sea dog.

I see you're also familiar with the term overcast, them Yanks don't know how lucky they are! This image twitches the feet of this olde land lover and I yearn for the smell of the salty sea and a cold wind that shivers me bones. (o:

I think he hazy conditions add an air of mystery to the ship as it sails out of the mistiness.
It could easily be sailing out of the past into the present.
Splendid !

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
