This image was taken on August 1st, 2017 on the peninsula South-Beveland, Zeeland, The Netherlands, showing the northern river bank of the Western Scheldt about 15 NM (Nautical Miles) from the port of Antwerp, Belgium. The river can been seen as a thin line left, and in the middle of the image. From optical point of view, it's somewhat misleading image as the river there is about 2.5 NM wide.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

Because you're right about the misleading point of view, I visited Google Maps and am now looking at a satellite view of this area. If South-Beveland is the peninsula that heads out toward the Atlantic and Middelburg, then I do see a lot of very shallow waters, most likely due to tides, which would account for all this mud. This photo must be during low tide?

I have been so many times up and down that river Cornelius but of course could never get such a view from the middle of the river. Nice capture of the shallows especially with that sky.

Cornelius, I am assuming that these waterways are affected by tidal changes, this being low tide. You captured lovely lines mirrored by both water and sky.
