Think both the deer and I were surprised to 'meet' each other during a photo shoot of mine on October 14th, 2017 in a forest on the northern part of the peninsula Walcheren, Zeeland, The Netherlands.

It didn't even an attempt to flee when I pointed my camera to it. A matter of confidence? ( ☺ ☺ ☺ )

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

You can tell by the fact that her eyelids are almost at "half-mast". In many of the head-on doe photos I've seen, they're so startled (but still frozen) their eyes couldn't be any more open, practically popping out of their heads. She also appears to be laying down, something else they rarely do when a human appears.

I think animals are very good at reading people and she didn't sense too much of a threat. Had you gone any closer I'll bet she would have been gone. What a lovely surprise of a shot for you that day Mr. C.

I think trust most wild animals and I mean herbivores know if you wish them no harm.
