Wooden shoes and cobblestone make a lot of noise, but this beauty is noise free SEA. Everything looks so neat and tidy.

"Medieval" and "Little" certainly are the operative words for this, C. Here in the U.S. it would be like living in a high-quality tourist attraction, like a museum. Makes me want to break out the bikes and go riding from house to house. [I'm guessing that "alley" means the same thing there as it does here? A smaller, less-traveled thoroughfare running behind yards that are themselves, back-to-back?]
