This plane is a Boeing Stearman, developed in 1934. 8,400 of them were built for the US Air Force and the US Navy as a primary trainer. The Boeing Stearman is one of the most famous biplanes in the world. Stearmans are highly practical flying machines due to their smart 1930's design, and their simplicity of use. This classic plane, designed by Lloyd Stearman, did earn her reputation as: 'The biplane built like a truck that flies like an angel'. Flying legends like these proved to be valuable as mail plane, airmen trainer and crop duster.

The in 1943 built 'Old Crow' is one of the few still flying Boeing Stearmans in The Netherlands.

PS: image was taken in the air of the vicinity of Zeeland Airport, The Netherlands.

Splendid capture Mr. C. I have always liked biplanes, but don't see many of them. You did a superb job on this one, spot on stop action.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Mr C, about 40 years ago, I was treated with a ride in a bi-wing (don't know who the manufacturer was). The pilot, who asked me not to touch the "stick," took me through a series of stunts which scared the "you-know-what" out of me. I was very happy when we finally had a safe landing but it was an experience I will never forget.

Ah, yes... the days when flying in a plane, as pilot or passenger, was an adventure. And flying in one as beautiful and well-kept as this one today has to be real treat for these two as well. Saved and right into my favorites, C.

I'm just amazed at how good you can capture motion images, Cornelius. This is so high definition and colorful and that sky is perfect.

As you can see above, recently I got a comment on some of my popular photographs (consisting only of links) from a to me unknown person. These photos are:

These links weren't checked out by me due to the danger of introducing malware to my computer. I have complained about these comments, hoping that these comments will be removed by a MOD. Then I posted this message on the Discussion board/Request for Comment/topic Malware?

If something similar happens to you, my advice is to ignore unknown links unless the submitter clarifies what they are for.
