This blue heron is apparently amazed by not finding any fish here. Think however that it isn't accustomed to find alternatives in this environment, ☺ .
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
Perhaps the heron was led astray because he does look somewhat perplexed - when he finds water stocked with fish, that expression on his face will surely change - Great shot Cornelius - love those grasses - dune grass!!!!!!!!!!!
The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
"The primary food for great blue heron is small fish, though it is also known to opportunistically feed on a wide range of shrimp, crabs, aquatic insects, rodents, and other small mammals, amphibians, reptiles, and birds, especially ducklings". It could be scanning the grass for a few of those menu items. An excellent capture of one of these beautiful birds, C.
