In my country it's a fairly common practice that groups of elderly, living in a certain neighborhood, collectively take a bike ride, if the weather conditions permits this so. The knife cuts on two sides now: on the one hand one maintains and / or improves the physical condition and the social contacts too. On the other hand people enjoy commonly the beautiful landscape.
This photo is taken during such a bike ride on the South-Beveland peninsula, Zeeland, The Netherlands.

A lovely nature scene - The trees in perfect lines on either side of the road is very beautiful and the seniors on their bikes add to the peacefulness of this scene.

You captured these hardy souls very well Cornelius. Your flat countryside is ideal for cycling and it is as you say a fine way to see the beauty and to keep fit at the same time

Outstanding shot and love all the cyclist - I'd be going faster then they - I throw my bike into high gear, 18 the highest. It is so fabulous they people there are so active to over here in North America. Outstanding composition and depth - love it
