This image - showing a part of a forest at the northern part of the peninsula Walcheren, Zeeland, The Netherlands - wasn't taken in the fall, but at the end of the summer of this year (2018).
May have a somewhat misleading impression because the trees were already shedding the leaves because of the extremely drought and heat that we had to deal with the whole summer.

You're right Mr. C. I would have guessed fall. We've also had a very hot summer but with an abundance of rain in August and early September they believe our leaves will be late to color and fall. This is a lovely path to walk in any season.
