This image was taken on September 15th, 2018 at one of the beaches along the west coast of the peninsula Walcheren, Zeeland, The Netherlands.

Because of only a few remaining visitors, one can see that the Summer season is over now. Before the storm season starts the demountable beach cabins/huts at the foot of the sand dunes (to change clothes and to keep beach attributes) will be removed and are stored mostly in barns or other facilities somewhere behind the sand dunes, because the high tide/high waves and stormy weather would destroy them.

I sure like the composition of this one Mr. C. That sky sure is beautiful and dramatic, and of course you did a superb job with your camera.

Beautifully captured Cornelius :)
The beach huts look so colourful and add to the scene

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

The huts do really add to the scene but I'm sure the strong winds would smash them to bits - more beaches should have these for beach goers. Well captured as a last look of summer.

Mein Gott! I counted 84 of these structures in a line (I could be off by a couple but that is still a lot of cabins). Are these owned by families or by a company who rents them on a daily or hourly basis? It certainly looks to be a going concern, whatever the case. Lots to look at in this one... good details, C.

'Nik' as far as I know, these demountable beach huts/cabins are owned by a family. A couple of months before the beach season begins, there is a registration with the municipality. With this registration one can opt for only one beach hut/cabin. If the number of applications exceeds the availability, there's a draw, on the understanding that those who have already placed a cabin/hut the previous year, have preference over newcomers.
